At the RTCC Xmas do a list of performance mods for Series 1 Aero were announced:-

2. Air Filter designed for film air flow meter like on the Aero £63.50+VAT
3. Sports Exhaust £1080+VAT
4. Sports manifolds £3500+VAT fitted and CAT's £725+VAT fitted

Interesting.

Not sure about the remap - either they are ultra realistic, or being conservaative. DMS etc seem to thing that 320bhp+ is achievable from an Aero.

Manifolds would be excellent - more air = more power smile

Brakes - interesting. If they save significant weight. Otherwise I'll be holding out to invest in carbon ceramics which would save significant kgs smile

Springs and dampers would be interesting too - it could sit a little lower laugh

15kgs is a lot!
Need ot do this myself - figure theres a reasonable weight loss in doing this! Although if I put in a switchable system with baffles it's probably not going to save much...

M5 engine and transmission - engines retail at less than 5k for a good solid recon engine. Not sure about the transmission though. All that fitted for under 10k? Probably doable...

you don't need a gearbox.. only an adaptor plate and slightly different clutch... all parts are available.

That seems excessive to me as well. oops The original Aero 8 is a fine car without spending £12000 for a minimal gain. I to would be happier spending my hard earned on a heart transplant. You'd end the project with a 400 BHP Aero 8 and spend less.
