dear John - remember me talking to you about my choice of leather for my cars? I still keep some 30-40 leather samples here amongst which i made my choice both times , ending up with a certain Yarwood quality each time... One has to face an increased sensibility & need of some (extended) tlc of the leather then, but is rewarded by the unmatched feel to the touch & the wonderful smell , which outweighs that by far (imho of course only, may be...)

I am happy with Autoglym cleaner & conditioner - strange - but my 2010 4/4 sport still smells of leather(perhaps I do not drive it fast enough to alter the aroma of the seating!!!) - the first thing most people remark upon when they get in it. Mine is Muirhead tan leather. I think Autoglym keeps the original smell but cleans & preserves quite well without letting the seats get slippery.

I have always used the Turtlewax product same as DaveW and find it also works better on 'Morgan' leather than Merc or Audi leather where it goes a bit shiny and slippery for a while. Also use the Morgan sourced care kit for all the interior and have no complaints.

The only horse related leather preparation that I might consider using on the car trim is Stubben Hammonol which is great for putting the flex back into dried out leather - but I have not tried it yet. You may find the smell a little off putting. Otherwise I stick to Autoglym hide food etc - although recently I have tried a Halfrauds own label product and been pleased with the results and the lack of clothe damaging residue. Management would have strong views on any residue ......

The Lord Sheraton Leather Balsam arrived and has been applied. It seems to have been absorbed very well.
The smell reminds me of a club I used to visit. No mucky comments please; I was thinking leather chairs and furniture polish!!

Yes...it has an interesting smell. A slight hint of marzipan? Whatever, it does sink in well and leaves the leather supple. I do think we might have gone to the same club
