The Axle Tramp has just bought a 2011 plus four and would like to be able to understand the car properly. To do this, a workshop manual is required. I tried the dealer and Morgan cars, I also looked on Amazon books etc but, no luck. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi Axel Tramp, welcome to the forum. I too have a 2011 plus 4 and no workshop manual, so if you do succeed in getting one I would also be interested in buying one.
In the meantime this is a good place to ask question or do a bit of research on previous posts. Also look out for DaveW's hints and tips.

Have a look at the 'Classic Morgan' section, Dave's classic morgan how to...as a starter.

Sadly there are no workshop manuals available for the current range of Morgans and I suspect not for earlier ones either.

Anyway...welcome to TM where you should find a lot of what you might want to know answered here from the wealth of experience there is!

P.S. Don't go by my "Talk Morgan Expert" label though......I'm just an expert in jabbering on here!

What engine is in this model? There'll be a manual for that surely? The rest is fairly normal Morgan isn't it?

I'm an expert. As you know. smile

Standard Ford Duratec 2 litre. So a Haynes manual for a Ford Mondeo should cover that. Mazda MX5 manual for the gearbox and the rest.....well its all very simple Morgan stuff.

Actually, it would be mighty useful to know a bit more about where the front and rear brakes come from as they are one of those things commonly serviced.

The differential is from Holden in Australia so perhaps the rear brakes are too. Front calipers are from Caparo, which sounds Italian but is not. http://www.caparoapbraking.com/

The only manuals are for elarier generation cars, up to approximately the mid 70s (I think the MSCC still list them on their web site). There was also one by Autobooks, but again for the earlier cars.
As suggested above, engine manual from one group, gearbox from another.
As well as Morganatica there is also GoMog (which hopefully now it's been revamped a bit has removed some odd inaccuracies...).

Welcome to Morgan ownership and this forum.

Cheers,

Thanks for the very useful pointers about the workshop manual question. This forum is going to be very good. Glad I found it. Axle Tramp
