I don't have any plastic film on mine, the marks are just on the edge of the running boards. Have you considered getting Defendall sections put on your running boards? They do aid with the scratches you gain on the boards from shoes http://www.defendall.com/paint_protection/products.aspx

Having followed the posts on polish and detailing, I got my finger out and gave my +4 a good going over with various Meguiars stuff. It took ages to do but I must say the car looks great. The problem is, I'm now reluctant to drive it as the roads are always moist at this time of year and it'll be filthy again in no time. It's now a question of what gives the most pleasure - driving it or looking at it?

Can you buy just the running board sections? And if so, can you fit them yourself? I would presume they would have to be split to allow for the rubbing strip(s) and width would depend on model (4/4, +4 etc have different widths).

The wing back to the front of the rear wheel is one piece and I don't know of anybody that has split this section. Many people have fitted wings - personally it sounds like a skilled job to get everything to line up properly and likely beyond my standard!!!!
