Humbrol enamel paint and a fine brush!

I think I am on my 4th set of badges in 2 years - the "works" replace them at each service or whenever I take it in!!
Last time I asked for the old badges to experiment with and have used a sharp pick to remove all of the blue plastic and will experiment with replacing it with le Mans green to match the body colour.
The last lot of badges were replaced at Christmas - the O &R have since fallen out. The works admit there has been a problem as they are not up to standard.

I have had three badge replacements and each has been worse that the original.

All of the Plastic fell out of the last one so I bought the Darkest Green in the Humbrol range, slapped it in with a fine brush, wiped off the excess and then cured it in a warm oven after Sundays cooking (Gave a nice rounding to the edges).
So far its still all there, so far although the green lightened from the tin lid colour so I may need to change it, eventually???

Hi, thanks for the input about the badge. I think I will get all the blue out and leave it. You are so right about the mirrors. My plus four is Sept 2011 and I was adjusting the mirrors so I might see something behind the car ( anything rather that sky) and noticed the corrosion on the chrome. I think I am going to have to keep well on top of the cleaning. Can't wait for the salt to be off the roads so I can get the car out.
