I LOVE that dash. It's possibly the most perfect thing. Those rear lights are art.

Any story with the car?

How long you've had it etc?

Bootifull.

What a sweetheart!...timeless elegance, exuding class through every pore. You are a lucky creature to own that cat Cineman. Take care,

I've had the car about 18 months. Bought it from Neil Fender/Guy Broad who are XK specialists. I posted a couple of years ago when I first joined Talk Morgan about a classic car suitable for long journeys and motorways and.. then.. ended up with this! Completely unsuitable of course, but it was love at first sight.
Car was a USA wreck, went to Germany and then restored in the UK and converted from LHD. Many mods including the triple webbers, rack and pinion steering, disk brakes and and pedals further away i.e. the comfort of the later models without spoiling the lines (in my opinion). All beautifully done: I'm really chuffed to own it.. in fact I still can't quite believe I do.. but if I had to sell the XK or the MOG, I'd keep the MOG because.. well.. I just would.

What must that have looked like in period............
Just consider what else was around in 1952. Even I wasn't around until a bit later!!!!
Fantastic interior. Lots of similarities with the Morgan but funnily enough I think the centre instruments look much better in the Jag than the current Morgan.

I hope you are not faced with that choice....

A Morgan is, thankfully, always available. An XK in that condition is not.

It's a wonderful thing, a joy.

The curious thing is the XK120 was launched only as an open top in 1948: The car had originally been intended as a short production model of about 200 vehicles as a test bed for the new engine until its intended home, the new Mark VII saloon, was ready**. The FHC came along in 1951 and it is remarkable how beautiful the lines are - as though it had been intended all along. As is normal in "next models" the car got fatter and heavier with the 140 and 150.
