As of 4:30pm this afternoon, I became the proud owner of a 1994 Plus 9 in Royal Ivory with Rolls Royce red leather

Inkeeping with tradition, I drove the 100miles back to London with the roof off and really finally understodd why I spent so much money those years back on a decent sheepskin jacket! Very pleasantly surprised at the cruising speed the car was happy with, motorway speeds were extremely easy to maintain.

A few novice questions:

Heater - how? I see the knob (with a flame icon on it) under the dash, connected to a wire running into the heater box. Should I pull or twist? How hard? It doesn't seem to want to move much more than 3-4mm and I don't want to break anything. Should I just pull harder??

Luggage - where? I really fancy a nice hard leather case; I understand it will be decent money and accept that, do Morgan sell these themselves? Or is there a recommended place otherwise?

Gearbox - what? The 3.9 owners manual says the reverse gear is where 6th would be, but my box has reverse to the left of first gear. LT77? Just curious!

Gearknob and handbrake - replacements? Ugly black plasticky gearknob with rotating indications on it is not making me weep with joy. Do MMC do a nicer metal one with Morgan engraved on it or is there an aftermarket for such things? Can a handbrake lever be bought to match?

Dashboard - change? Walnut, red leather and black plastic do not look great together. Can white/cream dials be sourced? Can the black plastic backing for the switchgear and minor gauges be replaced with something smarter like a sheet of engine turned metal? Is there smarter switchgear available, the ones on the later cars look far nicer, can it be retrofitted?

Pedals - improvements? 2 x rubber squares and a throttle that looks like a ball bearing I have heard of the 'organ' type pedal for the loud one, this should mnake the car easier to heel and toe as currently there is not much to roll my foot onto. Any nice aftermarket or MMC options for brake and clutch?

Car is downstairs with its tonneau and storm cover on to discourage cats. I just happened to be pulling into the garage when the other half arrived home... she was quite smitten with the car it has to be said! I forsee a good relationshop developing betwen the two of them

Some of your questions I can hlp with:

The heater should be a pull knob if its like me, it will operate a valve in the engine bay that diverts coolant via the heater. Mines a bit like an older choke cable.

Morgan sell cases and also the gear knobs (see their online shop). Others if course are available.

The handbrake is classic Morgan stuff and I'm not aware of any other options. Always park in gear as they're not called fly off for nothing

Cream dials can easily be sourced. Just google smiths instruments. You should be able to get direct replacements. Bet source of dash is from here . Only ever heard good thinks about MK's work.

Richard has covered most things. Richbrook provide the later Morgan gear knobs which may fit or otherwise Heart of England are a good bet. M-K is the place for dash and switchgear although Simmonds of Malvern does dash inserts...not on his website, just ask. If you want a less bulky....in depth ...leather suitcase which is very similar to the Morgan one, Moss Europe do them in brown or black with waterproof colour. The detailing is same as Morgans so guess made by same manufacturer. Simmonds do nice luggage straps.

Then.....suspension mods, brakes, ......the temptation goes on and on

Congrats and enjoy. Photos would be great and remember for your own and the car's records to photo all the before and after change. Years later it's good to have that to look back on and add to the cars history.

Congrats: sounds like a great car. Will only comment on the luggage: I got mine quite cheaply off eBay and then bought a waterproof cover for longer trips where I might get caught out in the rain. "Bespoke" luggage can include things like mounting the third brake light on it etc, but I found the cost a bit crazy.

Where did you find a waterproof cover for it?

Er.. somewhere online! Can't actually recall, but it was a result of several hours of googling phrases and getting no-where.. but in the end (having rejected lots of trip-advisor and comparison claptrap) I found one. It was in the UK if that helps! Sorry.

Me too. Luggage is a great opportunity to give your MOG a distinctive personality and style. You can really let the imagination run wild. I have a few cases. I found my favourite in a second hand shop for A$35, attached it with a Morgan strap, added a Morgan script badge and wired up a removable stop/tail light. I think the retro Tartan and the size suit the car.
The case carries my picnic basket and is big enough to lug clothing for two on a short trip. I made a see through press stud plastic cover to keep it dry yet you can still see the stop light through the plastic.
The old "AirLight" I bought on Ebay along with the hotel lables. I even purchased a stick-on "bullet hole" and placed it between the "US Tourist" and the "Regent Palace Hotel Baghdad" just for a laugh...
