I say this without rose tinted glasses on, however, the AMV8 looses any mild appeal it has sitting next to the Aero SS. At the end of the day, this is simply personal opinion and it is great that we all like different things; however, Aston seem to have over egged the design of the DB9 so much so that all Aston now look too similar. Whilst I appreciate there needs to be a family resemblance, the DB9, AMV8 and Rapide all look like large sizes of the same vehicle.
ps - I think they loose even more of their appeal when you live in England and see them as much as we do around London.
ps - I still love the previous Vanquish S
Great shots Ale, thanks for sharing them and so glad you are enjoying your Morgan
Modern Astons still do it for me, they are pretty, they sound fabulous and in the main the are very nice to drive with good interiors.
I've been particularly impressed with the Rapide recently, fantastic engine and very usable back seats if you have a young family but without sacrificing the feel of driving a sportscar. The interiors feel really special too, and are very very well put together. A far cry from Astons of the past. Rapide is a great drive too, much more involving than a fast saloon, but a lot more practical than a 2+2, and I'm beginnning to think it's the prettiest of the lot... Hmmmm.
I must say that I love the shape of the Astons myself. No one complains about Porsche shape evolving but the press always go on about the Aston for some reason. Like a Morgan, it has certain classic lines that it needs to keep.

I love the older Astons, but there is something a little too footballistique about the current crop for my taste. Next to the Aero coupé the V8 looks rather ordinary to me.
As it seems to be the season for posting pictures of Mogs parked next to Astons, here's a couple of snaps of mine parked next to the V8 vantage of my former business partner at the chateau of Fleury en Brie.
The V12 Vantage is a seriously good rocket (I was driving one last weekend), but 'baby' Astons are, to my eye, too small to wear the graceful lines that they share with the other models. The 911 was always a small jewel in design terms.
I was very close to by an AMV8 roadster before seeing the Morgan SS advert. When I saw it. Well. Decision made. I paid the car before seeing it in metal.
