On the roadster the rims are wide enough that the "ears" do not protrude beyond the outside of the tyres. On anything less than 205 rubber and the 7" stainless wheels they stick out and could be a danger to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
I agree, but with 205 tyres on 6,5 x 15 Roadster Sport rims (the black ones) it seems to be fairly ok with the two eared spinners.
