A woman has posted on the Daily Telegraph site. "Very apt, as they only seem to be driven by 50 year-olds"

A colourful parade of very nice super cars. 50 years is a big landmark for any specialist car manufacturer {albeit not in family hands anymore}, may they keep going for another 50.
I notice the local Caribinere getting in on the fun.

As one who is a bit of a fan of 'modern' design (and of the F40!) I am biased but I think the LP400 Countach paved the way for the modern supercar. Yes, the Miura is beautiful, but it pays homage to shapes of the past. The Countach was truly otherworldly and the original shape is still to me barely believable. I think you're right about the Countach - it's a shame that both the Muira and Countach were actually pretty horrid cars to own.
I bought a Murcielago when they first came out and it was automotive art, built with passion but with (thankfully) some Audi reliability! But the dealer experience was truly shocking - they loaned my car, without my knowledge, to one of their sales guys for a weekend, and they crashed it! Unbelievable. Dreadful dealers and it's rather tainted my view of the cars.
Never again.

The book on the Muira does show how poor they could be. Anyway, it's a dream car that will never be fulfilled, unlike the disappointment I had with HD...

Both funny and sad that a restored 'concours' Countach or Miura is finished to way, way beyond the standard of the period.
Sad to hear that about the Murcielago, always thought they were the most exciting thing going. I saw an Aventador the other day and it creates the same effect amongst mere mortal traffic.
