I did raise the point a while back that the new suspension might show up the rear. I wonder what developments might be available for the rear and whether it's worth waiting and do the whole lot in one go?

Good result, so pleased. Rear end can be improved by spray grease on the leaves of the springs and running dampers that adjust in bump (not just rebound as Konis) then set as soft as one dares so that only driving hard through dips and hollows will the rear end oscillate/bounce one more than usual.
SUPLEX are testing a new rear spring and matching dampers, but are also involved in a longer term project. Regards PJB.

Many thanks for the write-up. I am now convinced that this is the way to go and will have it done on my way to Mog 13. I too am intrigued as to what these guys have planned for the rear of the car!!

They have sold me the 'matching' rear damper to go with my front set-up - as you say, guess the spring is in development. If they need a test mule, always happy to help

Keith, my car is a 2012 model and had thrust bearings instead of damper blades when it was built. I believe the steering geometry, particularly the castor angle, is set differently to your car. I do not feel any shimmy with my hands on the wheel and when I take my hands off the wheel there is a very slight vibration side to side. I don't think I would describe it as shimmy. This is only a visible vibration of the steering wheel, not something you feel in the car itself.

I don't have it back yet, due to an incorrect part for the exhaust being delivered, it's all taking longer than expected. I thought we were going to have lousy weather for the BH as well so wasn't bothered. I'll get a good drive in soon and post a decent write up...

As to my other offer - it's a genuine one, how long do you need it for and for what workscope? I've put every car in for development work that I have owned, it's fun and for a serial modifier like me, it's a great way to see how it's done and usually get the parts a bit cheaper

Hi, I had this system installed a couple of days ago and have done about 200 miles since.

I am pleased with the suspension refinement system, and I think it represents value for money.

My car is a 1982 4/4, it was fitted with a brand new AVO shock system with Mulberry kit and new springs with a negative camber plate.

A couple of points.

Pros.
I noticed very early on how much it improves the progress of the front end over large potholes and the like, if feels more like riding over the waves as opposed to crashing through them. It is most noticeable in corners as the car quickly settles down after a divergence without the drama.

Cons.
The car can still be coaxed into conditional instability, with a given frequency of divergence, the front end will oscillate up and down, ie nod as it did with my earlier installation. For example on concrete road where the cooling breaks are a fixed distance apart and the car is travelling at say 58 mph. I think I might have preferred to increase the damping to reduce the nodding, however I expect this would effect the overall tuning of the system.

Question
Perhaps the tracking has gone down hill a bit. It is quite controllable with a very light touch on the wheel any drift or sense of the front end wandering stops. It maybe my view is incorrect any expert could better describe it, could I be confusing what is happening with the feel of a much lighter steering load?

For the eagle eyes who might want the almost new AVOs, you will find them in Melvyn Rutter's charity box, give him a ring and I am sure you will get a bargain.
