Hi Dave,
As mentioned elsewhere, PJB is the suspension guru on TM so I leave him to reply to your query, as I'm afraid I'm a techno-peasant when it comes to suspension! doh
Cheers
Brian

I am running the GAZ shocks and now that the Suplex system is controlling body roll much better I am finding that the rear shocks seem to hard so I am going to try reducing the setting to zero. I am currently running 2 clicks. By all accounts the GAZ and the AVO seem fairly similar in settings.

When the Suplex rear system is developed I will fit that for sure.

Edgar I strongly suggest that you fit either the ball thrust race (The Morgan/SUPLEX one) or damper blades. I think the ball trust races were fitted as std in around 2009. Without either I would think that you will get either heavy steering or of course the old problem of the main springs winding up - are you sure you have neither? Puzzled - PJB.

I suspect Edgar's 2006 70th Anniversary 4/4 must have been fitted with the ball thrust race at some stage. I just found a reference in GoMog which says that damper blades were discontinued in late 2007. It would be quite hard to see if you did not know it was there because it is hidden under the rubber cover which is also partly hidden under the base of the spring.

From the Suplex Front suspension ‘Refinement System’ instructions. Note that the ball thrust race is the same as fitted by Morgan on the latest cars.

Peter, its the same as fitted by Morgan, because it is supplied by SUPLEX to Morgan. Good photo ;-) Regards PJB.

I have some mechanical interests for the Suplex suspension. The main spring seems to have less active coils than the standard one. Is the compression stroke increased compared to the standard one ?
Could somebody give me the standard stroke and the new one if different?

PJB Gambalunga - Gents, yes I have the ball race, I have had a much more closer look. I am used to looking at my 69 4/4 , the 70th Anniversary is fairly new to me and a cursory glance didn't show the ball race up as I thought it might. The Suplex system is on my list.
Thanks for the responses.

CBY, there is no 'std stroke' for bump/compression, nearly all models are different depending on the precompression of the rebound spring at static ride height. However the bump travel has been increased over current production with the SUPLEX system to make the most of the available tyre envelope.
It is also a difficult question to answer as the compression of the bump stop of the damper is also part of the usable bump travel. Sorry if this seems to be avoiding the question but there is no one answer.
There are indeed less coils in the SUPLEX main spring, it is made of higher grade steel and so is lighter than the production main springs. Regards PJB.

To PJB : Thank a lot, you have answered to my question. I understand there is a lot of different configurations. If the bump travel is increased it could be more efficient for spring and shock absorber.
