Is this a record? I have just replaced the DMS RedFlash 750 in my 2005 4/4. I believe it to be the original battery (I acquired the car with v low miles in 2007), so it's lasted 8 years. It hadn't completely died - I use a CTEK charger/conditioner - but wouldn't keep a charge for more than a couple of days without the CTEK being connected, whereas it used to go for weeks - immobiliser is the only drain.

As I'm off to the Isle of Man in a few weeks and had visions of not being able to get off the ferry, a change was due. The Odyssey PC925 is not identical but only a few mm bigger in each dimension, and has the same recessed terminals that take brass terminals fitted with an M6 bolt. My battery is under the bonnet, so stays nice and clean.

Google gives prices up to £165 with the best being Battery Megastore at £135. However I discovered the same supplier also sells via Amazon UK at just £123 with free delivery, so "click" and it arrived next day in the morning! Fitted easily and started strongly first turn of the key so I'm happy and perhaps the Amazon price info will be helpful to someone else.

Thanks for the tip. thumbs
I have been slightly concerned about my DMS Red 750 for a while.
I have been regularly topping it up with an Optimate, but the battery is original; so that is 10 years old and 30,000+ miles.
Also, and for those not familiar with this set-up, it is a small 28Ah battery, and I find it amazing that it has lasted this long.

So I have have just used your link and ordered through Amazon.

The Odyssey battery is very powerfull, I use the PC 925 in my DB5 and 964, and the smaller PC 680 is perfect for my classic 911

I've always used them on my motorbikes and been impressed. High cranking power.
When the time comes to replace my current battery in the 4/4 I'll go for Odyssey.

I have ye olde cheapo Halfrauds special. As always it seems the battery dies on a new secondhand mog. This one is 7 years old but always on a charger. Fingers crossed!!! I think it was sub 35 squid at the time

A standard battery won't fit in the underbonnet tray, as in my car - it has to be the size/shape of the RedFlash 750 or PC925. They have a habit of dying early apparently so I was quite happy with 8 years.

Bought as suggested through Amazon.
