I would think an MX5, if not too small would be a good one to consider. Cheap and reliable. However if too small and you still hanker after something a bit more of a classic then the Jag XK would be top of my list I think. If you just want modern open top motoring then as others have said the golf etc would fit the bill.

Golf and BMW series 1 rag tops are in pole position, despite the very tempting suggestions so far thanks. Loved our MX5 but no longer 'getting down or dirty'! Cheers

VW EOS? - similar to the Golf but added refinement and security due to the folding metal roof. Two friends have them and love them.

My swmbo drives a 125 Cabrio,she likes it a lot,from time to time i don't mind taking it for a spin either..
