Can anyone advise the wire colour of the headlight main beam circuit on a 2009 4/4 to which I should connect to a switch or relay.
Also any ideal of the best place to expose and make a connection to this wire?
Your help would be appreciated.

Should be blue with a white stripe.
PM me your email address and I'll send a copy of the wiring colours (admittedly from around 1982, but the colours don't change).
Above colour code assumes Morgan have followed the colour charts of course - test the lead before fitting. Do fit a relay (via a switch - your dip/main column switch will not be strong enough to cope with the current the drive lamps will need).

Cheers,

That was still the case according to the 2005 wiring diagram.

Thanks,Graham and Peter for you help.

Too hot to look at it today, being 39 degrees C in the open this afternoon, but enjoyed a nice run to Cheltenham this morning.

Cheers,

I took the bus into town, but then I'm still reworking the wiring...

In this heat Richard, its stalled for the moment.
I'll get a few pics when I've opened the damaged section of loom.
Still working out whether to retain the original circuits but with a few more fuses (which will be quicker to implement), or whether to rewire properly, so the increased fuse box capacity protects all circuits as a later car would be wired - that will take longer to sort though. That has to be favourite I think.
Until that decision is made, I'm not buying any parts.

Cheers,

...if it is worth doing....

I would go for the latter too...more rewarding once complete too.

In my 2002 4/4 I fitted spots to an existing spare bullet that was near the overider as this was live on main beam so assume that it was integrated into the loom for such a fit. Is there not a spare cable nearby.

I expect wrongly that if there was a cable then the relevant switch on the stalk (the Land Rover Freelander style) would be adequate to take the main beam and the spots...

In the Freelander, if you add driving lights, the factory loom that comes with the extra lights includes a relay (from memory...).
