Well the day had come to pick-up the car, booked on the 9 am train from Balloch in to Glasgow then up to Perth and RPM. Set the alarm for 5.30 am so would be on time at the station (please note we only live 10 munities walk from the station). Was up before the alarm and not the best nights sleep. Wife in a crap mood before we left as lack of sleep due to me being up every 5 minutes to check the weather on bbc website. Check list bank cards yes, train tickets yes, tobacco yes, reading porn for the train (top gear mag) yes, wife no still in the shower. After a short wait red eyed and face like fizz she is down stairs and dressed. Telling her no time for breakfast we will be late for the train she pointed out it was only 7 am (why are women always right).Breakfast it is, I offered would you like hash browns, scramble eggs, sausage etc the reply yes that would be lovely,so jumped in the car mcds it was in and out the drive though in munities and breakfast served on the table (please note I did put hers on a plate). Time for the train weather not looking that good sun and showers. Arriving at RPM there she was and better than the photos, when first looking for a car we wanted ivory with red leather and hood, Russell pointed use in the correct direction to go for mulberry leather with maroon hood, works very well.As always RPM service was great went though all the paper work and the car in fine detail. We did find one problem (if its a problem) the wife can not drive the car as she is to short, she is only 4ft 11 and can not reached the pedals Russell is going to look at doing a mod to the pedal box when in on its first service . Now time for our first sit and drive ever in a Morgan.

I have always ran new car in for the first 1000 miles or so and this will be no different , A9 south have around 35 miles down to Dunblane all dual carriage way, A84 Callander then A81 Balloch all nice driving roads for 70 miles, knowing the wife a stop for some retail therapy some point.
And off we go roof down side screens off and on to the A9, first thoughts the wind in the cabin not as bad as past soft tops. It always take me some time in a new car to get a driving position that I like and the Morgan will be no different. The run down the A9 duel carriage way was not the high light of the day as when turning on to the A84 the car changed personality. Dropping up and down gears and rolling corners. A big smile on my face it hit be that this is going to be a car that i will enjoy.By this time the wife need somthing to eat so stopping off at the Rob Roy for lunch gave me a chance to have a good look round the car. With both of use refueled ,sun still out and dogging the showers it was off again to go the even longer way home.

Refection

How the Morgan differs from our past cars
Porsche 911 c 4 s every one hates you apart from other Porsche owners and no one will let you out at a junction.,
Porsche boxster as above but even the 911 owners look down on you.
Lotus Elise the problem with the Elise you could not drive it slow, it was like you had to go every were with your hair on fire.
MR2 no boot space like the Morgan can live with that.
MGF Did like the MGF do not have a bad word to say.
Lotus 7 same as the Morgan classic looks everyone is interested in the car, other drivers let you out at junctions but you don't spend 3 hours fixing the Morgan every time you go for a 5 mile drive.
Well a very happy Man should have done it years ago.
Thank you for reading and I would like to thank all the staff at RMP that has made buying a Morgan a great experience.

Very much in the dog house, could be up for rehoming

Loved reading that, felt I was there thumbs

I had similar yesterday as I went East of Norwich to pick up a car I had just bought (non Morgan) and suddenly panicked at being nigh on 200 miles from home in a 32 year old car with carbs in 25'C in centre of Norwich in a car I didn't know, having to be back by 5pm to go for a friend's 50th! Was exciting and exhilarating all in one. Car behaved impeccably.

Just like your day sounds to have been smile

Enjoy in good health drive

Cheers

You are of course spot on in both ways smile in my case and my defence however I am awaiting the eventual delivery of my plus 8 and will photograph all 3 of the new arrivals (Inc the Bentley which has been here for Months!) as I really like the combination of the three for my purposes. I promise they will materialise very soon.

I nearly popped n for a cuppa on my way home yesterday, must have driven within a mile or two of your House!! but it was gone 3pm and I needed to be home, showered dressed and ready to leave by 5pm frown got home 4:40, left the house 5:10pm so only just 'made it' smile

Cheers

Agreed, and apologies Mutley for the thread drift.
Love the description you posted and comparison with past cars.
I think that other drivers "admire", rather than "envy" a Morgan and that adds to the delight of ownership.
Also really glad that you had great service from the dealer.
