Thanks Mr M, interesting article. With such a light car it would probably get really good mileage- if you could resist spinning the turbo up, with big bootfuls of throttle! Gerry.

I have no inside information, but it looks very much like a derivative of the 657cc, 3 cyl, fitted to the Suzuki Cappucino sports car. The engine is an absolute cracker, beautifully made and makes a lovely sound. The quality of machining and finishing was more akin to a bike engine (i.e lovely); though the engine was designed for, and started life in, Japanese home market "K cars" I am slightly confused as to why Caterham are going this route though, as the Sigma engine in the current entry level cars suits the Seven beautifully. Oh...did I forget to mention we've just been appointed the Caterham dealers for Scotland?
All will be made official in the coming days.

Interesting Gerry. I wonder what the Suzuki rear axle set up is like?

I've been working on it for a couple of years now but it took a change of management at Caterham to facilitate the deal. I'm not quite at the official announcement stage as we still have a few things to put in place......our first car being one of them! Here it is, all but finished now I believe! http://www.rpm-morgan.co.uk/product.php?view=detail&item=119
