I can't even fit a screen protector on a digital camera screen without messing it up. I could have years of fun (frustration?? ) with sheets of 3M film...

Another subject I know nothing about - I assumed it was a liquid rather than a film.

Looking into options, but useful info from pistonheads below

Armour Fend fitted to my Roadster for £350 or so.
My metallic paint would be difficult/expensive to match, and this was an insurance policy.
Yes, look hard and you can spot the edges, but stone chip protection to cowl, front wings, running boards and front facing rear wings worth it for me.
Of course it would be no defence agains "hammer blows" but does avoid stone chips which make it worthwhile - especially if long trips are planned.

I can give you the details of the garage that done the body and chassis on my mog and they will give you honest advice first . The yes it does this , the no it does not do that , the stuff you need to hear before you part with your cash. They are just over the border in Darlington.

RPM have applied Defendall to three of my Morgans and "it does what it says on the tin". I consider it money well spent.

You should do what I have done bought me a new digital video camera? over 4 year ago without asking, a surprise . But it was always me with the old one in my hand at Christmas and any other time . I felt I missed out behind a camera while others played with Jnr as a child . Its still in its box not touched a sore point with who read your post gave me one of those looks that can turn you to stone before she went out.

I was advised by the supplying dealer to have film protection fitted from new on my Plus 4 . Now done 5k miles with no sign of paint damage. The edges of the film can be seen if you look hard enough but this is, at least for me, a minor consideration. It's not cheap but I would recommend having it done.

I have Defendall fitted on my Roadster. My car is dark and the edges of the film are noticeable and collect bits of old polish and grime. These marks can be eliminated or reduced with care. On the front wings its a good investment - my car has picked up some pretty heavy marks and chips on the film. On the wings its essential - this is the area most prone to damage from my clumpy shoes. All in all, a worthwhile investment but not without its downsides.

I looked at the Ivory Aero Coupe at B&C (guildford) last weekend and the nose and wings have some significant chips which my car does not have despite being twice the milage and age. I am very surprised that Morgan don't fit this to the demo cars to protect them better. Then again they could always choose to respray them as they own the factory.

I do love this car but the condition was not what I expected it to be.

It took time to get the "mould" but looks stunning.
