Eek! I've ordered both sides in case they changed it. I don't like the idea of odd brackets, even if only I know!!! The old style ones like yours broke on both sides.

Maybe Suplex need to add an alternative bracket as a replacement to the factory item to their new kits if this is indeed a weak point.

Better metallurgy should solve the problem although it would be more expensive to use a better alloy.

There's not enough shear area (metal) around the holes. Should be at least one hole diameter.

Dave,
As you have all parts, I assumed it broke but still stayed in place?

[quote=DaveW What is amazing is that we motored over 400 miles with the offside damper totally disconnected. It never banged and there were some periods at fairly high speed round corners, and it never felt twitchy. [/quote] We drove back from LMC last year with a failed rear shock on the Aero, only noticed it a few days later when spotting an oil drip on garage floor. Makes you wonder what they actually do?

Dave.. my metalwork (and technical drawing!) teacher would have smacked me over the head (they did in those days) if I made (designed) something like that! It has been redesigned but it can still break I'm having trouble understanding how it can break so cleanly without damage to the damper...
