I've a Blaupunkt London in my Roadster...I assume put in when new in 2009. Single CD slot and plenty of tiny controls which means stopping to lurk under the dash! The CD player at least does not skip on bumpy roads!

I'll probably change the unit for something with a remote control and bluetooth to stream music from my iphone.

Paul....if your car wasn't specced for radio prep when built, there will be no wiring.

AQM -- you are right -- I knew it as a motorbike remote as I had one on my BMW R1150RT. Whatever the name, it works very well and after a short time you get to the point where you can just change station, volume, change between radio and CD etc by feel without any need to look at the thing -- safety first!!!!!!

Cheers!

My Plus 4 built April this year had an Alpine CDE-171RM from the factory which has a USB and 3.5mm aux input on the (removable) front panel. Single slot CD. I've never put a CD in, frankly I never put the radio on either. No remote so its impossible to operate on the move.

I specified a stereo with a remote and the factory fitted an Alpine without a remote. When I pointed out the error they were kind enough to replace it with an Alpine model that could have a remote and the remote control kit. I don't think we have ever used the CD player either but do occasionally use the radio, or an MP3 player, but usually use a USB memory stick loaded with MP3s.

Jay the main wiring connections are part of the wiring loom so they are probably there somewhere tied up out of the way. Probably lacks the speaker wires though.

Hello Trevor.

I got my 2013 4/4 in march and specified a radio/CD. It's fitted with an Alpine CD171RM. This has a single CD player and both USB and Aux inputs. Although it's well hidden under the dash it's not too hard to operate the major controls, off/on, tuner,CD,Aux, USB etc. It does have an optional remote but I've not bought one yet.

It gives a good volume and is quite usable (and hearable) up
to quite high speeds. I use the CD but my iPhone via the Aux input more. I would prefer to use the USB input for the phone as the unit will control all the functions but because of it's position that's not possible.

You don't buy a Morgan to listen to high quality audio but all round I've been very pleasantly surprised by the results of the Alpine system.

Hope this is of some help.

Andy.

I suspect you may have to thank me that Morgan now supplies a radio that has a remote option. I kicked up quite a fuss about it.

Not what the factory told me when I asked...which surprised me as I thought that they'd have a common loom. Perhaps they just weren't keen to retrofit one for me.

That's odd as when I got my car I was definitely told all the wiring was in place if I didn't want to order the radio at that time or if I wanted a non standard head unit.
