Hi,
I don´t jack up my car as the wheels then drop down, making access to the grease nipples even worse. On my car the right nipple is almost impossible to access if the car has been jacked up. The shock absorber comes in the way. I also turn the steering wheel a bit to the left to gain better access. I must also hold the grease nozzle firm to the nipple and straight on, or else I get the same grease blob as you do.
I use whatever grease available, but prefewr Moly as Graham do. Rather than type I think its more important to grease frequently. In summer I grease once a week, daily commute to work plus the evening and weekend trips. My front ssuspension now has done 38800miles without overhaul

Regular greasing....yes! I religiously greased my 4/4 front suspension every 1000 miles as recommended by the factory. The kingpins and bushes were worn by 12,000 miles So much for that! On the Roadster I will be doing them ever 500 miles!!

Fitting 60 degree angled nipples makes access infinitely easier, but the real key to long kingpin life is to use hard chrome kingpins. It's not expensive, they are 120 quid for a pair, and fitting them is pretty straightforward for the home mechanic, no special tools are needed.
I grease my front end every couple of thousand miles, and when we stripped out the front to fit the Suplex kit we found no measurable wear after over 25k miles. Stories abound of people getting 100k miles out of their hardchrome kingpins

I wish now that I'd had the foresight to ask for the hard chrome kingpin swap when I had the Suplex kit fitted!

What grease gun do you use. My last grease gun a AK44 Side Lever Grease Gun went straight back as it didn't work straight out of the box. My previous gun a Hilka pistol grip lasted jsut over 12 months (thats used just 5 times at once per 1000 miles

Wanner... Although I still have and use an old Halfords gun that has sufficed for various Land Rovers over the last 30+ years... Don't know the manufacturer.

I wish now that I'd had the foresight to ask for the hard chrome kingpin swap when I had the Suplex kit fitted! If a dealer did that for you and didn't propose going to HC kingpins at the same time they ought to be ashamed of themselves...
