I've had a wonderful trouble-free c.3000 miles since I acquired my car just over a year ago. Carried out minor care and maintenance procedures during that time, but I have never seen the battery, so I thought it was high time I took a look. I understand it lies under the OSR seat, but before I even try to lift the carpet and floor I simply cannot shift the seat squab. Can any 4-seater drivers tell me where the fixings are that will allow me to do this?

Battery access is from the underside of the car.

A real Morgan driver can lift his car anytime, anywhere! In my 1990 4/4 4seater I just open the right bonnet.....! But my battery is not placed right for the weight distribution. So there is a price to pay for progress.....!

Steve,

If I remember right and if your 2010 is the same as my 2007 4 seater, then you can fold the back seat down to reveal a couple of press stud fixings that hold the seat leather in place; with these removed I think you should be able to see a couple of screws which when removed will allow you to slide the seat bottom forward. There is no need to go under the car or to remove any of the carpet.

As a new Morgan fanatic, fitting a new battery was one of the first tasks I had to do when the original '07 battery died a instant chemical death when I was driving down a country road with my daughter. Thank goodness Morgan's don't rely on electric power for much grin2

Cheers
Richard

Richard - that is very helpful and makes sense from what I have seen so far, thank you; I can't believe I have to go in under the car.
