Brilliant (!) work Richard. I will follow up the sidelight ebay link, definitely.

I thought you might be interested in my LED upgrade for the "cobra" high level brake light at the rear, until I saw you have a 4 seater.

However for others reading this who are catching LEDitis, or developing LEDophilia, here's the link for this nice little conversion!

Ah Keith. You have the larger version. Mine are the smaller ones.

If you have fitted Cibie H180s can you advise whether or not the headlamps came supplied with rubber dust covers.
Recently I bought a pair, one came with a dust cover and the other came without.
The supplier says they come without yet their catalogue says they are supplied.
Which is correct?

Mine came with dust covers on both. They didn't take long from Holdens then did they!

Thank Jays. I got the call on Tuesday so picked them up same day.
We only opened one box in the shop, the one without the dust cover.
So when I got home and looked inside the other box, it contained a dust cover.
I phoned Holdens who assured me there should be no dust covers so I promised that I would return the 'extra' dust cover to them.

I guess another call to them this morning asking for a dust cover.

Update. I called Holdens after a short discussion it appears that there should be a dust cover with each lamp.
Initially the guy thought I was talking about the white spot lamp covers, rather than the rubber dust cover that fits on the rear of the unit and covers the headlight bulb.
They will send me a replacement dust cover.

Glad it's sorted. Always found Holden's helpful.

I spent a few hours this morning fitting a pair of CIBIE H180 headlamps replacing the standard WIPAC ones that were fitted.

The jury is out for me, there doesn't appear to be much throw up to the left with these lamps, a tighter midspot, I'll have to asses what they are like at night. Rather than the limited throw of the garage door wink

The parking lamp/sidelight/pilot is further down so you can't use the big rubber boot that comes with the WIPAC and the Lamp securing spring isn't as nice on the CIBIE I can imagine stabbing my finger on a cold winters night swapping a bulb on these. As for the prior discussion re the rubber boot mine came as standard with smaller CIBIE ones.

Just a little update

Pleased to report that the CIBIE H180 are a significant improvement over the original WIPAC lamps it came with.
