Thats funny - ! Me as a MAMIL (Middle aged man in lycra, this is what we call middle aged blokes puffing away around these parts)
That was a long time ago. I once almost got a speeding ticket on a bike, I was quite fit when I was young. That was a long time ago. Head down on the A30 into Camberley from Blackbush directly through a police speed trap. I was really proud I got 48 mph into 40 limit according to his hairdryer. They could not make it stick but had a go.
Mr & Mrs Morgan's are now in the household. I just need to finish clearing the house to put on eBay, claiming the expenses, sell the second kidney and detach myself from the bank managers ankle. The S2 is back at the factory for some TLC and we came home in something a little younger. This one -
http://bit.ly/16AOSM8With thanks to a certain person on this web site, the very dedicated people in the factory and a lot of her majesty's finest beer tokens we now own the ex-demo Coupe. The factory have taken time to prep the car for us and it needs sunglasses to look at the finish as it is so shiny. The factory even made a special cushion to allow Maria to fit comfortably in the Tillet seats so she can now drive our Morgan after the issue she had around the S2. Finished in perfectly matching double stitched leather. Now we can both feel the special enjoyment a drive in the Morgan brings.
Plenty of time now to discuss if the S2 is moved to another chapter in its long life or if it stays with us as a proper soft top one. I think provided I can sell the neighbours cat we can tip the funds over the edge and keep it. That reminds me I had better not sell that net on eBay just yet.
The drive back was spent mostly in silence....sidepipes and awe. The S2 gets a lot of smiles and admiring glances. The Coupe gets a distant thud as you hear jaws dropping. Those of you with AeroMaxs probably know what I mean already. Its hard to explain the "cripes" look that comes over someones face (polite word used) as they look at it. I can see what Ale72 means by the attention being quite intense at first. I just figure that they are not looking at me so that's just fine !
The interior is a deep chocolate brown between Galaxy and Bournville in tone. I would not have chosen it as I am chicken but I have to say it is really great, rich and luxurious. I am pleased it is this colour as it is nicer than the safer tone I would have chosen. The Tillets are firm on the 2-3 hour ride home but not uncomfortable, you could not be any wider than I am or they would nip. I would probably have ordered the quad rear pipes as the quad sidepipes are LOUD, secretly I probably prefer the sidepipes for the sheer mutter rotter effect. If you are in muttering rotter mode then they are great, if you are trying to creep out for the 7am Heathrow flight then the neighbours are going to start looking at you differently. A good 3-5dB above the S2 sidepipes.
So when the S2 comes back we are going to have a joint picture of them in the garage. Should be pretty. Pics of the new one to follow as I upload them -
http://bit.ly/18ht5cX . You don't really need them do you, it will mean I cannot go and play with the new toy ? The thing is famous before it joined us anyway ! We just keep running the Video and pinching ourselves that the same car is now in the garage.
This is going to be really really fun.
