Lucky NO VERY LUCKY man and I called into a MacDonalds last night for a bag of chips it was around 10pm and we had been running around without any tea . While standing waiting ( drive thru closed ) A man with greying hair looked at me and said " Hello John " , I did not have a clue who he was . On asking him who are you he said " Nicola " my brothers daughter he used to go out with her when they where at school 25 year ago . My wife remembered his name and it came back to me . He asked did I still have the Mog I had given him a ride all those years ago and knew me instantly . How many still have a full head of hair and still look the same as they did 25 year ago .

And still the same sense of humour

In the early 80's I came across a local farmer who was into aviation, and liked to rebuild Merlin engines for display. He used to cart one round to car shows on a big trailer.
He wanted an old MG Midget stripping and removing from his barn so one weekend three of us went across to do it, which we managed to do in the day. But what we also found was three other barn finds which he wanted to keep. First was an MGA coupe under a pile of cut wood with not an ounce of paint left on the visible body. In an outhouse were piles of MGA spares, including alloy bonnets and boot lids. The MGA was under a roof but only one side so was exposed to the weather. Next to it was a Jaguar XK120 in the same condition, backed under a roof but with the front exposed, and in a very sorry state. But in the barn with the Midget was a complete but tatty Lotus Elite with Climax engine. At the time it might have fetched £1k, but I didn't have the money or the desire. If I had a time machine I would go back and instruct myself to find the money and buy that Elite and then restore it. I was also offered a rough MGTC for £1k but couldn't afford that either!!!!!
The Elite would have been a better buy in every way.

Richard I never liked Drake , thought as a young person he was to stupid to laugh at , and when a man has to resort to the F word in front of a woman to get a laugh it shows how bad he is . I think Ken Dodd can or used to be able to make people laugh for hours by taking the pee out of himself as well as others . The same with Kenny E. Dave Allen also made me laugh but he changed after a while off TV returned and the F word was used so his fun turned sour. The Wit of Bob Monkhouse was stunning . Now its people talking about life to get you laughing and few jokes . Steve if you think that of me THANK YOU but my best mate called in on Wed m/ing and I can't keep up to him he is so dry with his wit . I have told you several times I was the shy one out of the group of mates, but it is Geordie land and it is part and parcel of the area it pops up from all .
