It's probably obvious for all of you, and probably this has been said tons of times but I was not able to understand where MOG came from. The only thing I found until now was (Morgan Owners Group)
If somebody want to help me to understand it I'd appreciate it.
Any link/reading material would help as well.
Thanks in advance for your time and patience.
Ale

I don't understand it either. A Moggie is a Morris Minor, and always has been.

I've always assumed it came from the abbreviation used for number plates.

I think it came from the annual mscc meetings e.g. MOG89, MOG90

I think it is just a shortened way of saying Morgan - that`s what I assumed.

My parents had a Super Sports in 1934 and my Mother always referred to it as The Moggie, so that affectionate nickname is at least eighty years old.

I believe all these hypothesise are probably right/ have some credence.

for over 80 years the morgan has been nicknamed MOG - so it's lost in folklore - maybe the Morris sole the moniker!!????

I stated my view here: The word "MOG"

I'm not sure it will help you find the meaning of the word but opinion on its use was fairly evenly divided.
