Really like the look of the Lucas Tribars, has anyone experience of them?
I notice that the MMC shop say they are 'suitable for RHD vehicles only'. Anyone know why? Thought maybe they can only dip left if so canthey be shaded with the normal insulating tape for motoring in foreign parts? drive

Stafford vehicle components offers them as LHD Version. Link S-V-C. I guess other Lucas dealer will sell them also as LHD version. Are these headlights symmetric or asymmetric lights?

Yes I've fitted them but not yet tried them out at night properly. I suspect that the performance will not be as good as the standard quadoptric lights but they look good!

I looked at the SVC lights which are almost half the price of the ones from Aero Racing ( the factory ones are the same price as the ones sold by Holdens ). Some of the tripod lights have plastic lenses, not sure about the SVC ones but preferred to go for the factory ones.

Just popped out to my cold garage to check for you! The lights seem to dip straight ahead and the lenses are symmetrical as far as I can see.

I obtained a pair from the factory as they are of good quality and were known to fit the car. Other sources are probably okay, but there are some poor copies being produced whereas the MMC lights are definitely good.

The lights look great, but they are not quite as bright as the standard lights. We are not talking about a huge difference, but perhaps not ideal for someone who does a lot of night driving along poorly lit roads.

The MMC are also planning to stock lights for LHD cars.

You'd probably find you'd get a fast answer to an email query to SVC; their customer service is excellent and I've bought a few things from them.

I've used SVC a few times in the past and found them very helpful. They told me that they supplied Morgan with some items such as the wingtip light units.

I've just checked in the daylight the front lens of the lights. There is definitely a RHD pattern to the lens although it is nowhere near as pronounced as the standard lights.
