One interesting thing. I picked up power for the map light and the small instrument light by the clock, from the positive wire coming into the side of the cigar lighter socket. I had assumed that this was the power source to fire up the element in the cigar lighter plug and as I don't smoke I was happy to disconnect it from the socket. The socket remains live with the ignition off so I was expecting both lights to work when I connected the battery...they didn't! BUT.....turning on the sidelights with the ignition off and then both the lights are on! Which is great (both lights are switched by the way) but I am confused over the cigar lighter socket.
Does it perhaps light up when the lights are switched on? Anyone got any ideas?

Oh for a circuit diagram!!!!

Normally there are two lives, one on the very end and this is the main power supply, the other on the side is a switched live for the integral light normally linked to the dash lights.

Well............thanks chaps!! Not one of you picked up that I had transposed the heated screen and hazard warning switches! Just found out last night as I was testing out things!!

Dash out again this morning to rectify it frown
