Before I turn in for the night, just time to ask one question. On the black plastic cam covers on the 2L Zetec, there are four vertical threaded holes with what looks like brass inserts. One next to each plug cap. I'm thinking about using these to support an aluminium water shield over the plugs and coil pack. But before I spring into action, what do these do on the Fords? They clearly have a purpose.

Not to support/secure on of the plastic engine covers that adorn cars these days?

Unfortunately, the Shropmog website is a frames site, to which some of us are very anti (I am).

Any reference to a page, any of them, will always return the likes of index.html - for all of them. I've had a look in the obvious "technical" section, and I can't see it, but perhaps I'm thick.

If you use Firefox, right click on the page itself, not a picture and you get offered "This frame" part way down the list. Hover on it, click on "Show only this frame" and it both does so, and address bar then gives useful information that enables the giving of a link.

None of the above. The coil pack is a block at the rear. I'll bang a photo on here over the weekend. The inserts are stand alone and in the well between the cams. I think a Ford cover would only need two fixings but there's one next to each plug cap.
