Spotted this morning, unusually heading down the Hunterston Channel between Largs and the Great Cumbrae. Normally when the "boats" are heading out they pass well to the west of the Cumbraes. Perhaps the sat-nav needs an update! Don.
We get enough of that cr*p from the various buffoons in Westminster without it having to taint an intelligent forum like Mogtalk. Don (Tongue firmly in cheek!)
Might need a glass bottom (on the boat!) to see them
That reminds me of a fight started in a pub in Pompey by a stoker off HMS Woodlark. A bunch of American sailors off the USS Ponce (who was going to say that Woodlark was a daft name for a ship?) were in the pub. They'd been going on about how small & insignificant they thought the Royal Navy was, provoking him to enquire how their new class of glass bottomed destroyers were coming along.
"What would we need glass bottomed destroyers for" had been their rather puzzled reply. "So when you go into Pearl harbour......you can review the 6th fleet".
The ensuing punch up had required the intervention of several Naval Provosts
Cracking photo . My dad used to smile at the best one . WW2 one American and one British ship passing . The American captain on the speaker to the British captain said " HOW IS THE WORLDS SECOND LARGEST NAVY " the reply " WELL THANK YOU , HOW IS THE WORLDS SECOND BEST. "
