Has anyone else noted that having a passenger mutes the rattles substantially - maybe I should just drive around with a few sand bags!

Nice one Crowbar, and a bit of a result with the bevel box too. There, you see, I said not to worry until you get it, some are good some aren't, yours is good.

Re: the wheel, I've found an 11" Motolita just perfect. I kept the one that came with my first Lotus 7 25 years ago, [just a keepsake really] and fitted it, and I find it works for me. See if you can beg, borrow or steal one to try?

Thanks Paul - I hold you partially responsible for this lunacy, as you were pretty encouraging back when I was on the fence back in May!!!!

The 4 spoke Moto-Lita doesn't come in smaller sizes...I went with form over function, never a good idea! I may try a Brooklands or a Simmonds if this one doesn't work out.

Maybe just borrow a smaller one, if you can make it fit, just to see how it feels, and if you like it, you can then look for the right design in the smaller size. I know a big one looks right, but to me, with a diet of Caterhams for 25 years, a small one feels better, and with the Empire kit, the steering is lighter anyway, both parking and driving.

I almost went with the same steering wheel you now have, however I too was concerned about the diameter but not for the same reason, I was worried about the getting in and out clearance , so I ordered the Brooklands steering wheel.

As for the squeaks and rattles, they seem to be part of the charm of hand built automobiles when new; however with diligence and patience you will work them out.
In addition I have found that with a passenger [Mrs. Spirit] they seem to be drowned out by another type of noise.

So It looks like Bigpoppa, Spirit, and I make 3 M3W owners in Texas...anyone else out there? It's a big state fellas...come on!

Maybe a good old fashion BBQ should be in order next year for all M3W owners in Texas [along with any other Morgans from anywhere else of course].
