A day at the Chateau
No...not an exotic French Chateau but Worcestershire's own "French" chateau...the Chateau Impney at Droitwich where day one of the Classic and Sports Car and H&H Classics two day event is being held. Today was preview day for the H&H auction and I got a chance to have a look at some interesting cars and fall in love with a couple! Shame I don't have a spare garage...I don't want to sell the Morgan to make space...otherwise I might have been very tempted.
A real mix of car from barn finds ('58 Rolls Silver Cloud, '75 Alfa 2000 GTV..which looked pretty reasonable....the latter...NOT the Rolls!) to some modern stuff and in particular a lovely '02 Bentley Arnage that we all sat in and dreamt! The cars for me though were a rather lovely and quite rare '33 Singer Deluxe Sports 9 Coupe and a Healey 100/4, well fettled by Dennis Welch.
Whilst having coffee in the Chateau we met up with the owner...a real classic nut...and very charming...who showed us around and then took us out to see the hill climb course. It looks like it will be 2015 before it starts but whilst not particularly steep it looks fast and has some very tight off camber bends.
Back tomorrow (its only just down the road for me which makes a change!) to meet up with Wirewheel for a further browse

Mr B you know me too well! Yes...Nero stays! Mind you I was very tempted with a couple of cars yesterday. I deliberately didn't stay to see them sold. Problem is i'd need garage space and Nero would then have to go. I could rent a lockup but for me part of the enjoyment is popping into the garage for a bit of bonding on a regular basis.

Nothing like a bit of regular bonding! I pat the land Rover every time I walk up or down the driveway. doesn't understand why I have to go out into the garage every night...

Now I've seen most of the auction results the DB7 never reached its reserve! John, The lovely green Bentley Arnage went for £24,080. That's nearly a £ for £ swap with my Plus 4!!!. A green car with green leather swapping for another green car with green leather Totally impractical, but I could have been tempted except for the running costs The BRG V12 E Type I liked the look of went for £37,855 and the Pink one you mentioned went for £53,760 (no accounting for taste). I couldn't find the red E Type you mentioned
