Hi Steve, welcome to TM! Perhaps a bit specialised for routine maintenance, but I can recommend Northampton Motorsport. I'm sure 'Cerealsurfer' of this forum, would also vouch for Troy's skill and enthusiasm for sports cars. Usual disclaimer- no commercial interest in NM, just a satisfied customer.

Hi Steve,

Northampton Motorsport over on the Rothersthorpe Road Industrial Estate in Far Cotton, Northampton come highly recommended for any tuning, including a rolling road.

For MoT's etc, and any servicing, try Motorvation up the road a little. Very caring owner.

Any tyres & small jobs, ring Dave Barringer who owns Northants V-Twin in Northampton. His brother owns a Morgan (and is registered on here). NVT are a Harley garage but Dave does most of his brothers Morgan jobs.

Allon White are just off J14 of course..

Thank you to everyone for your warm welcome. It looks like I am now spoilt for choice regarding my issues as posted, loads of garages and specialists to check out in the New Year.

Many thanks once again to everyone for your input.

Kind regards,
Steve

Hello Steve welcome to Talk Morgan. On this site you will get advice from people who really know what they are talking about......... unfortunately at the moment you've got me crazy3

I'm really a near neighbour up the road at Leicester. I bought Reginald my brilliant4/4 from Allon Whites in Cranfield and also use them for servicing etc. They are excellent and I highly recommend them. Like Bud says you are less than an hour from them.

Enjoy your Morgan.
Andy

Thanks for your recommendation Andy. I will contact Allon White... As everyone says, they are the closest reputable dealer to me anyway!

Out in my Morgan today and looking forward to the Saturday grocery shopping trip for a change!

Have a great weekend.

Time to write an introduction…I have been a professional artist and designer for many years, involved in graphic design, illustration and retail design. Claims to fame include a complete series of retro posters illustrated for Murphy's Irish Stout and winning a design award for a British Telecom retail display, however I now enjoy specialising in pet portraits and painting commissions.

In the past I've re-built a Westfield kit car and built from the chassis up, a 4.3 litre Sebring (Healey replica). I still have the Sebring, which was built as a show car and has little use! Sadly going up for sale next spring.

I have tentatively been looking at Morgans for twenty or so years and a beautiful low mileage 4/4 sport came up for sale at Beamish a little while ago.
The car has loads of extras and I fell in love with the 16" 4 spoke, very retro Moto Lita wheel. The car is almost immaculate apart from a few chips and scratches on the running boards, to be covered/ protected with black vinyl wrap and a gouge in the painted dashboard where the previous owner tried to chisel a badge or something off the dash ( overlooked by me on viewing/ purchasing the car and prior to delivery! GRRRR!!!) This has now been covered with a Union Jack metal/ enamel badge.

Working from home and doing little mileage, I am happy to use the Morgan as an everyday car, apart from in the snow, when I will walk into town for a pint of milk!
I am looking forward to Morgan ownership, upgrades include locking luggage pods, possibly a dab radio and a seat cover/ dog pod for my passenger, Cassie the Border Collie who I re-homed in 2010 (see pic number 5).

Here are a few pics of the car and other stuff including some painting commissions etc.

Looking forward to reading more posts and becoming a contributor on TM
Happy motoring to everyone…
Steve

Lovely looking car Steve!
And the collie too - I have a softspot for collies, though my last collie-X has been gone 9 years now...

May you and the hound thoroughly enjoy the Sport smile
