Stalks look good to me. The default stalks on my 92 Plus 4 are terrible. Ugly, plastic and vague.

Maplins always sell a kit you can add to make them intermittent by turning them on and off quickly to activate. Can be added to older cars too.

I still have an old Heathkit intermittent wipe controller sitting here in the office. Fitted to my MGB in 1982/3, removed when I sold it. Was going to fit it to my '76 4/4, but never bothered in the end. Will I fit it to the '93? Dunno...

Peter (Gambalunga), I agree the current cowl, like your 2012, is very ugly, looks home made, and doesn't mate at all well with the moto-lita boss.
However the original question was about the 2004 model which (like mine) is a much neater design made by Landrover and when covered with matching leather as on the Allon White website is a very neat solution. The moto-lita boss fits very nicely with this type of cowl.
Dave W recently tried fitting one of the older cowls to his new yellow anniversary 4/4 (Mr Bumble) without success, I think.

Yep. The current cowl isn't good, but looks better covered with leather. I still have the spare Discovery cowl, but it won't fit current cars due to the deeper dash, and it can't be modified (trust me on that, because if it could be modified...... ) There is more than one version of the Discovery cowl so be careful if you get one to cover.

Dave: Do you happen to know the source of the current cowl or is it specifically Morgan?
I want to lay my hands on one to make a modified shape for a fibreglass mould. When I get the shape right I will then cover it in leather. I don't want to use mine because I would have to strip the leather off it.

Peter, There were no identifying marks on the inside and it's very roughly made, so no clue as to the origin. It doesn't fit straight on most cars either, and underneath is very crudely bent to avoid rubbing the steering wheel boss. The curved line here is where I cut it to remove the dog eared section!

Like I said, the current cowl looks "home made". Why did they change it?

Covering the ugly plastic shroud with leather is not the answer, nor I think is highlighting the area with an expensive stainless steel solution. I posted a thread a while ago showing how I cut back the plastic shroud in-situ and covered the remaining base with matching leather to show off the beautiful MotaLita column. Ill dig it out and re-post it
