I always liked the strange Lagonda When I was 17, I had the catalog with this photography. Although I prefer the "standard" version, we can notice that some swiss people make not only cuckoos http://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/aston-martin/lagonda/1987/169574

I recall seeing two of these parked at Charterhouse School when the cars had only recently been manufactured. They were be far the most memorable cars of their time.

I remember seeing one of these parked on the Embankment in Dartmouth. Prince Charles was a student at the Brittania Royal Naval College at the time learning how to drive boats.
He was the owner I believe.
Not to my liking but it's a good job we have varied tastes.

I well remember the stir at the motor show when it first came out. The outlandish styling, the LED dashboard - wild. Shame the electronics turned out to be a total disaster.
It was the perfect conveyance for Alan B'stard MP

He was the owner I believe. Methinks you have the wrong Windsor Richard. Charles would have been there in 1970 or 71 - the AML didn't come out until '76. Andrew on the other hand went there in 1979. I did a summer camp that year at the BRNC with the Naval CCF from school and they were busy painting the hell out of everything in preparation for his arrival.

I'm sure you must be right Giles we didn't move down here until early 1979 - the only memorable Royal I saw in town was Diana and she was a stunner in the flesh. Princess Michael of Kent was a fair looker too as I remember, before she got all serious and bossy.

There was a whole line up of them at a Bentley Drivers Club event in Silverstone a few years back.
I prefer the 1930's version of the Lagonda but they still made a splash.

I'm not quite sure why but the Lagonda and DeLorean seem fairly similar to me - probably share the same period of design I guess.

The highlight of my childhood was being taken Christmas shopping to Sheffield in a Lagonda Rapide..............(late 1950's) When we stopped, a crowd gathered.

I'd popped into a rather classy equestrian outfitters in Knightbridge to buy some jodhpurs and had just walked out of the shop when I was almost knocked over by a blonde driving an Audi Convertible who swung onto the pavement. Of course, gentleman that I was in those days, I turned and swore at her! She sweetly smiled at me, the chap next to her scowled at me....probably her police bodyguard and it wasn't until I stormed off across the road that I realised who she was! I still would have sworn but probably in more moderate terms!
