The factory supplied a black rack with my car April 2013 build

I was at the factory in May 2013 on my 3 Wheel Drive day and enquired about supplying a black rack when chasing up the build date for my M3W. The person I spoke to in the office asked around if it was possible and the answer was a definite No. All very strange (but typical I guess) if RogG was supplied a black rack in April....

Everything is Marvelous and Lovely now, apart from the weather!. You can see terrible flooding near the factory.

I think there is a supply issue with stainless racks just now. Maybe they listened to requests for black ones and acted? They didn't have one there when my car went in.

I have to say that anyone I met at the factory was helpful. Mark Evans is a very busy but helpful man who has listened to our concerns.

I have the new Centra Drive compensator thingy. What a difference but then mine was very poorly.

Hi Austin ( Warbird ) ,

At the recent open day at Oakmere , chatting with the M3W service engineer about getting parts blackened he recommended a local firm who specialises in this :

http://www.wilkinsonspowdercoating.co.uk/contact-us.php

I am considering getting my heat shields power coated ( so I dont have to keep polishing them ! ) . I have not contacted them yet , so no opinion on service.

Might be worth getting a quote ?

"I am considering getting my heat shields power coated"

Yep, I had mine done locally for a tenner each, they look as if they are OE.

You know how to spoil my fun, I bought new ones! They were more than a tenner not surprisingly.

I love the contrast with black heat shields. Mind you it is a sport black car.

Must take the cowl off now and get it colour coded too.

Well yesterday morning was rather nice so I put on my PPE and looked like Neil Armstrong. I like the factory Spada jacket, very practical.

The comfort pack steering is quite amazing, a great solution.

The new bevel box with NVH is quiet and the Centa drive is quiet too.

The sports exhausts are lovely with ear plugs and a helmet. Sounds like a Spitfire.

The fan is noticeable but fine.

Thanks to all at the factory for getting me back on the road again.

If I were to mark the car before and after it goes from 75% to 95%.
