Please post any Aero 8 issue, and the resolution to it, on this thread. Posts do not have to be fault related but can also include modification which may be of interest to other owners and enthusiasts.

Please endeavour to be concise in your description and, if possible, use the correct technical terms. Pictures are also an asset; however, are not necessary.

Issue - loss of engine power, engine going into a mode that restricts RPM and does not allow the car to accelerate past 40mph (approx). This engine mode is referred to as "Limp-Home-Mode" by some people.

Resolution - Faulty ABS sensors were sending a message to the Engine Management System which caused the system to decrease power delivery (forcing the car into a safe mode due to perceived lack of brakes). Replacement of the ABS sensors resolved this issue.

Issue: When warm, persistent stalling at idling revs. Starting (hot or cold), power and performance otherwise unaffected.

Resolution: Defective Air-Mass sensor. Replacement cured fault. thumbs

Car will not start at a certain temperature, usually after being stopped once hot. Immobiliser is locked on.

Caused by the immobiliser unit slipping and touching the bottom of the fuse box. Heat soak once the car is stopped overheats it and causes it to malfunction. It will stary working again once car cools down again and heat in that area dissipated.

Cure is to put it back in place properly, and heat wrap it.

This took BHM a lot of experimentation over many hours, and I am very glad it was under warranty! No parts costs, a good 6 hours at least in labour to find the fault.

On the plus side, the electrical systems on my car were completely checked, and it had full diagnostics run several times - so now we know that those connections are all good and in the right places!

*fingers crossed, just because I don't want to jinx anything... smile

Actually, that was just a temporary fix - immobiliser unit then got worse, and needed to be replaced, which necessitates new keys as well. However, no need to replace entire ECU, as was originally supposed...

All the anlges are off on all four corners and any ajustment other than toe looks to involve some disassembly. Any tips or tricks out there?
