The roof thing was him not knowing that you needed to slip the flap over the sidescreen wasn't it?
Yes. Whether he knew and was doing a
Clarkson is another matter to debate. He does seems quite knowledgeable but pandering to the Pistonheads demographic may not be conducive to reviews without comedic embellishment. I would be inclined to believe a significant proportion of that viewer base has been weened on Top Gear and expect to be spoon fed comedy fiction over fact. I may be incorrect but a leaky roof makes for a comedy element and I am inclined to believe Mr Harris is intelligent enough to work out what the roof flap over door is for.
I never imagined that I would end up operating as an advocate for Chris Harris, though I have great respect for his abilities.
However, your assessment here is, I am sure, entirely wrong. Harris would have left home in a hurry, having tried to tie up all sorts of loose ends before doing so, and he had to get to Geneva to cover the show. It's always like that.
I doubt very much that he would have had time to think up your comedy scenario and, unlike Clarkson, he does not have a team of ghost writers to write gags for him or to supply him with opinions on the cars he has not driven.
I bet he thought afterwards, Doh! I should have thought of that!
To get back to the point - and I think it is vitally important - I expect that the throwaway remark he made re Morgan in that video of this year's Geneva Show was created by similar circumstances. I am also sure that he will again think "Doh!" about that, after he has been presented with the facts.
Over to you, MMC...
