This may not be much help ...but you can still buy a new start handle for a Series 1 Land Rover [ £20]

http://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/series/series-1/218508-starting-handle-series-1-2-3.html

May be with a little grinding / sawing and drilling - you can get it to fit ?

Or you just may be lucky ?

I had that same problem and was given a starter handle without a pin. Just need to fabricate a pin. However, yours should be a standard special engine and that may translate to early Triumph. I saw an early Triumph handle for sale but passed on it. You might try looking for one of those.

Or worse case, you might just have to find a working S1 handle to get the specs, and fabricate from something else.

Cheers,
Mark

Be careful when buying a starting handle for a Series Land Rover, they are not all the same length and some are not correct for a Series One. I sold a few last year at an autojumble, not sure if I have a spare one now but will look.

Chris, I too would like the dimensions of the starter handle. As I said, I have a handle without the pin and need to fabricate the business end correctly. Email is series1@cfl.rr.com

Thanks!!
