Thought this attempt at a minor suspension addition might be of interest to post.

My 5 leaf springs are still in reasonable shape but I wanted to restrain the occasional large suspension spike that can cause the car to nearly bottom with two people and carrying luggage. I know this should normally be the job of the damper end stops but I did not want to interfere with them. Thought it would be nice to have an independent way of fine tuning and controlling any extreme movement. So have put together a pair of bolt on spring assists to play with.

Early days yet but nothing untoward so far. AVO’s now wound back to “comfort” and the peak body movement appears to be gently restrained by the PU springs (adding between 7 and 14kgf/mm per side)

Interesting. A modern day equivalent of the Aeon bump rubbers which were a popular addition to competition cars in the "old" days perhaps?

I was just going to post but was beaten to it, todays version on Aeon bump stops, also used for caravan/horsebox/trailer owners. I worked at a garage in Solihull, West Midlands that was an agent for them and we fitted them to lots of vehicles.

Please keep posting with the results, looks very professional!

I think they would sell in numbers. A nice looking kit.

"Auto-Ball-Ans" were another solution in the seventies - inflatable spheres which fitted in front of the rear shackle on leaf springs to resist sagging.
