Looks like a typically German, in-depth road test - they really do produce some of the most logical and properly 'measured' tests these days. Although my German is basic, I like his wonderment at the fact that it is a 2 litre engine in only 2 Zylinders....

Switched off through brain-ache before the end of Part 1 though - think I need to find that Babelfish for Part 2.... frown

I thought Germans just pushed a load of words together, jump queues and lets not mention sun beds. Waldemar is a good guy though!

Some words are very long indeed... Try Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz which has something to do with the regulations for the labelling of beef products, or something. Gotta love a language like that thumbs

But German bike and car mags were the first to really measure the claims of vehicle manufactures - in particular the weight of sports bikes when the 90's focus on Power:Weight become the biggest marketing push. The Honda Fireblade started a trend that continues today when they put a 1000cc-type power in 600cc-type weight of bike (185kg and 112bhp) and many quickly claimed to follow suit. Most of the English mags just churned out the PR stats from the Press Packs, but magazines like Sport Auto and Motorrad actually weighed the things accurately and showed the ones who were lying. Even now only a few of the UK magazines do that, but at least most have generally seen through the smoke and mirrors and manufacturers play a little closer to thee rules these days. Only the Germans continue to dyno most of their test vehicles to prove power claims though....
