Check that the steering rack is securely bolted to the chassis. Loose nuts and bolts are common Morgan problems. I recently heard strange sounds in sharp curves. It turned out that the all the bolts securing the front seats were loose.

If its warped discs, talk to Colin (Spanner Juggler) - have the old ones skimmed, new ones will only go the same way...

Jays - remember what I told you about the standard setup of the steering rack and how mine is now set up by Darren at New Elms. I believe NeilM has the same issue developing on his car which has now done about 9k miles. I think it is an inherent issue with the front suspension geometry that becomes more apparent as bushes and bearings wear and become free to move easier. As I explained the standard angulation of the steering rods from the steering box means that as the suspension flexes each wheel can move in a slightly different angle to the other, thus inducing a mild vibration. My setup is not perfect but I believe that it is probably as good as it can be with the current design. The other option is an expensive one, which is to throw away the front suspension and replace with fully independent wishbone setup, but then it would probably no longer feel like a Morgan. I think Mulfab have this on offer for about £6k. There is one other thing you could try, as you know when driving on different types of road surface the feel of the steering changes, a great deal of this feel is highly impacted by the type of tyre and tread pattern. I have been told the fully asymmetric tyre patterns are not great on a Morgan. So it might be worth investigating some tyres. I currently have Bridgstone that are ok but are not great on rough Tarmac and I think this is due to the block pattern. I will probably move to Toyo Proxes Z1Rs next year. Well you wouldn't be the first. And before anyone cracks a joke about Lots Of Trouble... I've had the Elise 18 months, put 10,000 miles on it and it has been back to the dealers once for a routine service. And that's it, no snagging list, no 'issues' nothing.

Well I got my vibration sorted, two further trips to the tyre place, owner explained it is a 'dark art' balancing wire wheels and all now sorted, third time lucky, beautifully calm even at 80, well as calm as a Mog ever is.....thanks to all for suggestions, hope Jay get's his Roadster sorted, after all you have a Roadster for all that power.....

If you go and see Paul Harris, besides balancing he will also check for out of round and run out of rim and tyre

I know there is some runout on my n/s/f so that is where I will be going to get things rebalanced.
Got to wait until there's more funds available though...
