Good news, the list of questions about buying and Aero 8 will now stop as a deposit was paid on one today. A 2001 S1 in Dark grey, a car well known to many of you i suspect Bad news, the list of problem specific questions will now start. First to the for is the tyre pressure monitors. Assuming tyres are indeed correct temps, how on earth does one shut this thing up?

On the tyre pressure monitors.... They all do that sir... New sensors is about the only option, and that has no guarantees...

I recently bought a series 1 driving it up a dark wet m6 with the sensors screaming was no fun, did not even know it had sensors. Anyway first mway services 30 psi all round and all went quiet I am now running 24 psi and the peace remains.

Mark,
Congratulations on your choice, very nice colour. I love the Aero 8, which I believe is one of best looking cars ever, only the Max tops it in the Morgan stable. The tps is a nuisance, when I bought my car it was fine and did what it should for about a year. However 1 of wheels now alarms, falsely once or twice on each trip. I just hit the reset and carry on. I enquired on service January as to new sensors and it would appear that the type in the Series 1 are not available any more. They had fitted a new type on a Series 1 and it had problems. When I next change rubber I will have the sensor cleaned and hope it comes back to life again. Dave

Welcome to the fun.
When I bought mine I had it looked at by Millers and they reset all of them for me on my S2 and since then I have had no problems at all. If it was down to me being lucky then that would be a first !!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

When I bought my Max, I fitted tyre pressure sensors/transmitters purchased from TyrePal in the UK ( www.tyrepal.co.uk), model #TD1000, which has now been superseded. These simply replaced the valve caps on the tyres and there is a small receiver which I leave in the car. It's very reliable and doesn't go off every few mins to give me that headache...
