Regrettably not in either direction for some time guys...

Spent almost 3 hours in a ditch near Gloucestershire yesterday night after spinning 360 degrees coming off the Elmbridge roundabout A40 near Glos.

Overtaking a Micra, doing 30, accelerated on a damp road, rear drivers side wheel hit white line, lost grip, over-corrected, hit outside lane kerb, spun 180 degrees, hit inside kerb, spun 90 degrees, off onto verge, spinning a further 90 degrees into ditch, hedge and trees.

Completely hidden from road although only 10 feet from carriageway (very long grass plus 3-4 feet down).

Unhurt (except pride - very dented, but not as dented as Henrietta frown2 ) but I shall be bringing swmbo 's camper van to the track day at Combe.

Very worrying that that could happen at only 30-40 mph. Will have to trade on the Conti's for Avons once Williams et al have got her straight.

Anyone got a spare Morgan needing a regular run for a number of weeks...?

+1. Were the tyres old? That seems an extreme skid unless diesel or oil was involved

Thanks Hugh. Yes damage very significant I'm afraid. Will visit Williams tomorrow.

John - yes I suspect a diesel spill too - it was 30 yards from roundabout and only 3/4 throttle (ie not really pressing it). Tyres maybe 5,000 miles old - fitted in Jan, loads of tread left.

And d'ya know, my life DIDN'T flash before me - I just thought "oh, this is going to hurt" - and then it didn't, so I'm really happy about that.

Glad you're OK. Sorry about the car. Typical - Diesel. What does Clarkson call it - Devil's juice or something, can't remember.

Best Regards

Jeremy, sorry to hear the news, but relieved you're OK. Here's hoping you and Henrietta are reunited soon.
