Best place I found is on the scuttle just in front of the windscreen but not on or touching the bonnets. I got the same vibrations that you did when on the bonnet.

@ all: Thank you for the hints! (will test them next time).
@Robbie: My suction cup has a diameter of 85mm which was to big to place it there. Do you use another one than the original from GoPro? I assume that the car body in front of the windscreen has the same witdth for all Classic Morgans.
