Hello there! Well i've been layed up the past two weeks after injuring myself skiing. I tore the cruciate ligament in my knee but i'll be able to drive again real soon. I cannot wait to take her out again! But i'm being spoilt for choice and not enough time to drive all the beauties in the garage. I was planning a big comparison of them all which will be on the backburner until i can drive them all back to back again! But once i'm able to drive i definitly will be doing that <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Plus not many miles left on her before she needs to head back to malvern! I'm going to have to plan that trip pretty soon!

Will do Michael, mum has just stolen the car to go for a drive <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> She loves it to bits but is a bit scared of the gear shift from 1st to 2nd. Shes been driving automatics now for as long as i can remember so i've basically had to teach her how to handle this one which has been fun and a total change from her teaching me to drive all those years ago! It's a beautiful day here, i think i'll be trying to take her out later too <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Took mine out today - beautiful weather here! The roads are dry and the shift from 1st to 2nd led to a nice tail out moment as I drove away from home on a straight road. Nothing scary as the chassis it so neutral that it handles these things with so little drama (sure if you pushed it, she would bite); however, with a little restraint, the car is a pussycat <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

Yea i have felt a few tail out moment myself. Very surprised that it does it so easily! I'm looking foward to doing a track course the see it's limits so as to feel more comfortable handling them if it were to bite badly <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> I took her out for a spin int he sun today wow i had forgotten how much fun she was puuuuurrrr! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/love.gif" alt="" />

• Tyre Management : When i was out for a spin on saturday the tyre management showed an error code, i think. Now there's not too much in the book about this and i'm struggling to remember the code but i 'think' it was E1. It was on the front left tyre. Any clue what the code may mean? I'm off to check tyre pressures and water level etc tonight but just any guesses before i do this?
• Alarm : I'm just wondering who has an alarm fitted? If so what make? I want to get an alarm fitted by the factory if this is possible? For insurance reasons. What would you recommend?
  
  
• Seats being raised : Both me and my mum use Two cushions underneath us when driving. My dad uses one! So i want to get the seats raised by quite a significant amount. At least two inches (the cushions are very thick indeed!) Would this take long at the factory and would they do it with no hassle?
  
  
• Tracker: I will be getting one fitted by an irish company. Needless to say they have never worked on a morgan before. Any plans on where best to fit it?
  
  
• Service : For the first service i will be travelling over to malvern soon. What would be your guess as to how long the 1000mile service owuld be as well as fitting an alarm and raising the seat? Just your best guess as to how quickly the factory moves before i ask them for a timeframe as i don't want to bother them too much before i've set a date <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
  

Tyre Management - I had similar problems with the tyre management on my Reflex Green coloured car. What the handbook does not make clear is that the first button is just to programme the system, the second and third buttons are to operate the system. You may have inadvertently altered the settings, if you've touched the first button.

As the system continued to give error warnings, I got the factory to widen the parameters slightly during one of the cars visits to the factory. After that no further problems.

Alarm - In the UK, most, if not all, insurance companies insist that any alarm fitted is Thatcham approved:

• The Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre, or Thatcham as they are widely known was established in 1969 by British Insurers. I have not fitted an alarm to either of my Aero's, as the reduction in premiums for doing so did not really give a pay-back. Also, Aero's in either of the colour schemes were both pretty high-profile vehicles!

Tracker - Jenny, you don't really want people to know where the Tracker transponder is situated. If the installer is experienced, then they should be able to find somewhere suitable, once they have your vehicle in their premises.

Regarding the other issues, I am sure that the works can give you replies on these.

With regard to tracker they are a brilliant feature but do you really want your car back when someone has used and abused it! if someone has stolen it? I would prefer to get the insurance and replace it.

Seats: I am having problems with my seats and I am looking into replacing them with a adjustable seat which would give easier access to the rear of the car and a more comfortable driving position. Steve Simmonds is on the case.

Aeroman ~ Nope i certainly don't want them knowing! That being said if a thief logged in here and found out where was suggested to me and managed to take the car with the alarm and tracker fitted and camera's in the garage i'd be mighty impressed <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Your right though, i was going to say Pm me with the advice.

Unfortunatly Ireland is very far behind in some areas. When the tracker was fitted in my Lotus, even though it was the dealership here that picked the installers they managed to blow a fuse in the lights. Whcih then managed to blow the engine fuse. Which then managed to have the car off the road for three weeks as the official dealers took three weeks to find out it was a blown fuse <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nono.gif" alt="" /> Hence my reluctance at using any kind of dealership/fitters anything to do with cars in Ireland. It's just not in the same league as the kind of car specialists in the Uk!

So the main idea is to get some plan of where to put the tracker that would least allow them to damage anything from trim to electronics in the car. As i know for a fact they won't have a clue where to start! I'd rather them not butcher the poor beauty!

Re the tyre managment that is probably what i did alright! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> But i checked the pressures and they are all at 26/27 so thats a good sign! Great on the alrams, i'm sur ethe factory can help me out with that one so!

Michael ~ Your right i doubt i would want the car back but the only way the backwards insurers here will insure it is if there's an alarm and tracker in it unfortunatly.

Let me know about the seats, i certainly wouldn't mind one with a moveable back too. Then again i love the covering and the look of the seats in the aero. But not the most functional!
