Lovely! I've been over there a few times on the bike but want to take the Morgan over there instead! Lovely countryside and lovely people too.
No driving today......spent the day fitting a cast alloy GB plate to the car and struggled to put the luggage rack on. I hate the things and it was the first thing I took off when I bought the car. It obviously fitted then but has been a real pig to refit today. A lot of very Anglo Saxon words erupted from the garage!

Nice 260 mile run down to Somerset from Essex roof down sunshine nearly all the way. Mainly motorway all the way but hey ho better than mowing the lawn. 60-65 was comfortable, short bursts higher than that made it a bit drafty. Got a nice wave from a very pretty female passenger in a Rav 4 on the M 25 ............made my day
Jay - first fit the centre T bar into the spare. Use a folded towel to hold the wheel up against the cobra. Then fit the side fasteners, but keep two towels covering the rear deck, as the rack will try to bounce on it. When all is attached just tighten it up. The T bar is usually a pig to start as it goes in at a strange angle.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I'll try that although my fasteners are not side fasteners (nut and bolt?) but tubes which slide down over tapered pegs which are fitted on brackets bolted to the overriders. It has to fit....it did when I bought the car!

In the last couple of days Route 500 through the Black Forest, then into Austria and over the Silvretta Pass, the Hahntennjoch Pass, Timmelsjoch Pass into Italy and the Passo Giovo. Tomorrow it's the Grossglockner Pass.
Of the high passes the Silvrettastrasse and Hahntennjoch Pass are as good as it gets. The Grossglockner is rated as one of the best also.
Went for a run over the moors for a cream tea, my neighbour tells me that while I was gone a blue Moggie came to Dulverton from Dorset. If you are on TM sorry I missed you, let me know next time and I'll treat you to the best cream tea in the West Country
