Lapping the field
The two Plus 8s of Tommy Gilmartin and Andy Smith coming out of the hairpin at Knockhill on 15th June. They finished 1st and 2nd in both rounds of the Scottish Classics Sports and saloon races with Andy taking both wins. The car at the front is a rare Mk10 roadgoing Mallock.

The road going Mallock is interesting Andrew. I used to do a bit of "spanner work" for a chap who ran a Mallock Mk 18 in the National A Class back in the 1970s. Lovely bit of kit, but I didn't know any were road going.

To the best of my knowledge this Mallock is one of only 2 that were designed and supplied in 1969 as as being capable for road/race use. I believe it has a 1500c pre-xflow Ford engine with BMC back axle. I used to have an FF Mk 9 Mallock & also crewed with various other Mallocks and Vision Clubmans cars. As you say they were great fun.
