It is currently doing a Norwegian Blue impression at the local BMW dealer.
Suspected alternator

Not the alternator.
Battery is proper dead. They were picking up an 8amp drain with the old battery connected - replacement battery in - no drain.
They are now looking to find a battery that fits and has a little more power.

Get them to check out Odyssey Batteries (available from Batery Megastore). They do a range of compact, high power bateries. I have one fitted (underbonnet) on my 4/4 - excellent.

5) As you go round corners, your interior light comes on despite the doors being firmly shut. I love Morgan ownership  In the 1980s, you could tell when you were cornering quickly in a Lotus Esprit. That was when the glovebox lid dropped open.

One of the cars on our recent trip around had this problem. Unfortunately the local autoelectrician did not have the correct battery so, to avoid the battery draining when it was parked he activated an under bonnet kill switch that the Aero models have.

They are now looking to find a battery that fits and has a little more power. Ken, you may know that the later Aero batteries are not a commonplace size to fit the width/length of the battery tray, so your choice is limited. I found an Exide Gel battery of a slightly higher Ah rating than the standard (and cheap!) red Banner. Sorry I am not with the car at the moment or I would tell you the serial number. Good luck.

The car is now fitted with a BMW battery - which also sits the other way round (positive engine side). The battery indeed does have a higher cold start value.
I will collect it in less rainy conditions tomorrow

I agree with the C-Tek charger that is mentioned. I have these on the Aero as well. I bought them through eBay and they arrived quickly.
I bought the charger, extender cable and cigarette lighter tip.
After I park I just plug it in and have not had a problem since.
This thing is getting more like a TVR every day.
