Many thanks for that. My car has 22000 miles done, a lot considering it has just reached the 3rd birthday since registration.
I can't get any play with your test, the MOT in N Ireland is not until the 4th year so I will have to sweat it out till then.
Where do you buy the parts for this job if it were needed.

The recommended fix is hard chrome, and Heart of England Morgan sell them.........................

(ref SUS140)
You also need bushes etc etc, and a decent adjustable reamer.

........as do Rutters, and probably most other dealers.
I'm looking forward to doing mine, as it's a real engineering type job. waiting

Dave,
I went for the stainless steel KPs from John W ( on Mike Duncan's recommendation) They were about the same price as the Chrome items ( about 72 quid for a pair.)

I also got my reamer from John- £140 -ish, if I recall

Many thanks for your contacts. I would get garage help to do the work but would supply the bits required.

nothing matters very much, and hardly anything matters at all.

Dave,

my experience of MOT advisories is that are as useful as "Party Political Broadcasts" in that they reflect the particular interest of the person at the time.

My son's BMW gets an advisory every year if he takes it to the local "do everything" MOT garage. The BMW dealer he took it to said "they don't know BMWs, that is what they do. No advisory, no work needed and re-issued it with a new MOT without advisories.

For the MOG I'd only use a MOT tester that either specialised in old cars or Morgans. There are so many "special MOG Features!!

I use a local branch of a national chain of tyre suppliers in Worcester. The guy's a darling: I explain what I've done to the car over the winter and then he tests it; he always asks my opinion if he thinks something might have too much play in it, then if the allotted time isn't used up, he makes me a nice cup of tea before passing it.

Peter - the advisory was from a Morgan dealer..............

I only went there once for the MOT, and that was because I thought it was for the best - which it wasn't.
I have a regular village testing station where the owner has an MGT type and a TR6 and knows all about old fashioned engineering.

He's done my cars for years.
